Après avoir été présentée au Musée d’Arts de Nantes, l’exposition
« Paquebots 1913-1942, une esthétique transatlantique »
fait escale au MuMa, au Havre.
Il y a 90 ans, le paquebot Normandie quittait Le Havre
pour sa première traversée transatlantique,
inaugurant une légende qui continue de fasciner.
Près de 180 œuvres explorent l’impact de l’épopée transatlantique
sur l’art et l’imaginaire collectif.

La couturière appose sa griffe au voyage inaugural
de ce palace flottant Art déco avec une présentation Couture exclusive
dans la salle à manger principale, où ses mannequins défilent
devant un public de spectateurs admiratifs et de clientes éventuelles.
La Maison Lanvin prête, pour cette exposition,
l’album de dessins des silhouettes réalisées
pour le défilé sur le Paquebot Normandie en 1935.
After being shown at the Musée d’Arts de Nantes,
the exhibition « Ocean Liners 1913–1942: A Transatlantic Aesthetic »
is making a stop at the MuMa in Le Havre.
Ninety years ago, the ocean liner Normandie
departed from Le Havre on its maiden transatlantic voyage,
beginning a legend that continues to captivate.
Nearly 180 works explore the impact
of the transatlantic adventure on art and the collective imagination.
Jeanne Lanvin took part in the Normandie’s inaugural crossing on May, 1935.
The couturière left her mark on the maiden voyage
of this Art Deco floating palace by presenting
an exclusive couture show in the main dining room,
where her models walked before an audience
of admiring spectators and potential clients.
For this exhibition, Lanvin is lending the sketchbook
featuring the designs created for the 1935 fashion show on board the Normandie.
